Choosing Clothes To Keep Your Pooch Warm

Let's discuss about choosing clothes to keep your pooch warm. You love your dog and think your furry best friend deserves to stay warm while wearing stylish doggie clothes. Not sure what to do? You've probably never dressed an animal before so understanding sizes and what to put on your dog may be a little confusing. This article will explain how you can find the right clothing for your dog.

Not all dogs may need a coat or sweater, however for some dogs it can really help keep them warm during the colder months. Dogs have fur, but depending on your dog's size, age, and breed, they may get cold easier than other dogs. Small breeds, toy breeds, and breeds with short, thin hair obviously get colder more easily and can benefit from some warm doggie clothing.

If your dog doesn't seem to get cold and doesn't want to wear a sweater then don't force it. Dog clothing is meant to keep your dog warm, but not all dogs need it. In fact, you don't want your dog to actually become overheated.

So what kind of doggie clothing should you get for your pooch? A coat or sweater will do the job, don't put pants on your dog. Avoid clothing with zippers, buttons, tags, etc. The less the better.

Dog clothing comes in different materials. Choose one that won't be itchy. You want a material that will keep your dog warm, be comfortable, and wash well. Blends of cotton and wool are probably good choices, acrylic can be a good choice also.
