Then, you will need to begin a routine of giving your dogs more frequent meals. These meals should be small portions. Meals will also need to be low in fat and protein. Your veterinarian can also prescribe your dog medications that can help strengthen your dog's gastroesophageal sphincter which connects their stomach to their esophagus. Sometimes acid reflux occurs in young dogs that have a gastroesophageal sphincter that is still developing.
